National Disaster Photo Rescue Banquet

JOPLIN, MO.--- Members of the National Disaster Photo Rescue group held a banquet to thank volunteers who have recovered more than 30,000 photo's lost in the storm. The group started collecting and cataloging lost pictures in June of 2011.
They have since reunited more than 14,000 photos with 350 families. Organizers say it's a very emotional experience when people are reunited with a piece of their past that might have been lost forever.
"Some of them are still putting their lives back together. When they receive something like this, it is closure. It is a moment for them to be able to put their lives back together," said Thad Beeler, National Disaster Photo Rescue.
