NEOSHO -- The second consecutive pet fair was held Saturday in Neosho. Pet owners could get their animals both licensed and vaccinated at the event. New pet license fees took effect March 1, and applied the fair. Under the new fee schedule, annual tags are free for spayed or neutered pets, and $20 for non-spayed or neutered animals. Organizers say it is important to get your pets tagged in case they run away or are stolen.
"It helps keep our pets healthy," says Tara Sanders of Development Services. "It also helps with the tagging and things like that. If their pets get lost they can contact us."
Local pet groomers were also present to provide limited pet grooming services.
