Eric Hicks Charged with Murder for Toddler

JOPLIN, MO---29-year-old Eric Hicks is charged with second degree murder for the death of 15-month-old Emjay Corn.

Just yesterday, authorities dropped the original charges of child endangerment against Hicks.

Police say Hicks found the boy dead in his home on Pennsylvania Avenue after he left the toddler to go to a methadone clinic.

However, an autopsy on the infant showed the child died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Hicks is currently behing held in Joplin City Jail.

His bond is set at $50,000.
