If tensions at home are running high they want to remind women to seek help before a situation escalates.
As more details unfold about a weekend homicide in Joplin that stemmed from a domestic dispute, lafayette house administrators and city leaders want to encourage women in need to take advantage of community resources.
"We are here, we are a resource, you can come in for shelter and we do have a confidential, very secure shelter for women to stay in," says Louise Secker, Lafayette House Director Of Development. "Also, if you just want to get some information call our hotline, visit our website," Secker adds.
