CARTHAGE, MO.--- There's a laundry list of countries that Boots Motel co owner, Deborah Harvey reads from her guest book.

"People from Spain, people from Tahiti, people from Japan, bikers and bicyclists doing Route 66," states Deborah Harvey, Co Owner Boots Motel.

The 1940's motel reopened in May, and since then, it's attracting a variety of international travelers.

"September and October were heavy traveled months. I'd say at least 2/3 of our guests were international," states Harvey.

Before the international tourist season is back in full swing, the owners plan to continue restoring the motel to its original state.

"We plan to take the gable roof off because it was originally a flat roof," states Deborah Real, Manager.

That's not all, Manager Deborah Real hopes to restore a couple more rooms this winter.

"I've been itching to get my fingers in and remove layers of flooring and paneling," states Real.

The project Harvey is most excited about, the main entrance sign and changing the motel back to its original name.

"We're going to have the neon put back into it's original colors, and have it named back to Boots Court," states Harvey.

The owners plan to change the name of the hotel back to its original name "Boots Court" once the neon sign is complete.
