NEOSHO, MO.--- The Newton County Sheriff's Office says the victims of a home invasion have identified a person in a photo from an area store surveillance camera, as one of the burglars. The picture was taken at the Casey's General Store in Sarcoxie. Authorities have not confirmed whether the suspect was in the business before or after the crime happened.
The break in happened around 2 a.m. yesterday morning, at a home on Raccoon Drive on the outskirts of Granby. Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland says, four men kicked open the front door to get in the home and demanded money and drugs. Investigators say the male homeowner was assaulted in the bathroom. He was taken to a local hospital and later released.
Copeland says the homeowners and their two children were able to escape through a back door. The suspects got away with some cash and credit cards. The Newton County Sheriff's Office would like anyone's help in identifying this person. If you have information, you're asked to call the Newton County Sheriffs Office or Heartland Crime Stoppers.
