President Obama's Inauguration Local Reactions

JOPLIN, MO.--- "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal," said President Barack Obama, Inauguration Address.
Millions of viewers tuned in to watch President Obama give his inaugural address. People around the Four States are hoping some big issues get resolved during his next term.
"Jobs, we need jobs," says Rod Selsor, Joplin Resident.
"Job market get a little bit better," says Nicholas Thurman, Joplin Resident.
"Tax laws that'll kick in. That will make things a little easier for us," says Paul Zuraw, Joplin Resident.
"Passage of the jobs bill," says Jim Hight, Newton County, Dem. Central Committee Chairman.
Southwest Missouri Democrats are hopeful after listening to what the president had to say today.
"From the President's speech, it sounds like he's going to take a more progressive view," says Hight.
A jobs bill, immigration laws, a farm bill, and women's equal pay for equal work are more issues on the minds of everyone.
"Hey, run the country right. Get things done. Let's try to get some things that seem a little messed up get straightened out. You know, like the economy, the budget," says Zuraw.

"We were kinda let down these last 4 year, and I have hope these next 4 years will go a lot better," says Thurman.
Not everyone agrees. Phillip from Neosho said in a Facebook statement "Worst president ever. Worst 4 years ever for our country and going to be another 4 years of awfulness."
Rod Selsor met the president when he was in Joplin earlier this year and says the negative Facebook comments about the president don't give him enough credit.
"Had 4 years, and it was a first rough 4 years, but he has another 4 years to make it up. Give him a chance. You know hatred is, you know, it's stupid," says Selsor.
Local reaction was very mixed today. Some excited, some fearful for the next 4 years. Most of the people I spoke with today agreed they just want the country to be run smoothly no matter who is in office.
