KANSAS--- The Kansas House of Representatives is considering a bill that would regulate where adult businesses can be located, and would ban so-called lap dances and put restrictions on how much clothing is worn during on-stage dances.

The measure, also known as the Community Defense Act, has passed the Kansas House before in 2010 and in 2011, but failed to pass the State Senate. Legislators say with the Senate becoming more conservative this year, the bill stands a chance of making it through.

Opponents say it could cost as many as 1,000 jobs in the adult entertainment industry statewide.
