Lamar Snow Piles

LAMAR, MO.--- The City of Lamar continues to dig out of the snow from this week's storm. Piles of snow are scattered on the side of the street throughout the area. City crews have been working since earlier this week to move the snow deposits.
Today, crews continued hauling snow around the square to an open area near the Jackson Street substation. City leaders say it's important to move the snow piles to ensure the safety of drivers.
"Usually at intersections, and there's some that are so high that cars can't see if there's cross traffic," said Lynn Calton, City Administrator.
City workers also say the 2 inches of sleet which fell in the area last week also slowed the clearing process.
