Dog2008-06-25-1214445716.jpgSpot will soon have a new park to call his own. A groundbreaking ceremony officially welcomed a new dog park to Carthage. It sits on two and a half acres in the municipal park and is designed to have two fenced areas along with water fountains and a walking track. "I think there's a need in a lot of places where people can take their dogs and run with them and exercise with them and it's for the community and it's free. And it will be a benefit," says park supporter, Beverly Clark. Fundraising efforts are underway. Organizers hope to raise $75,000 to complete the project by next fall or spring.
