A tornado survivor is making it his mission to heal other victims. Action 12's Jessica Brown has our story
Rowdy is a little scared of the camera now, but don't let it fool you. He's a tornado survivor.
His owner Judy Mccoy says, "Frantically trying to find the animals and stuff and there wasn't really anything left of the house. It was gone.
Judy Mccoy is Rowdy's owner. She was in her car when the tornado hit.
Mccoy says, "Car was mangled, at that time we were running on sheer adrenaline." After she found out her kids were okay she checked on her other "babies."
Mccoy says, "We walked and desperately trying to find the animals."
She couldn't find them under the rubble, but Judy didn't give up hope. The next day rescue workers were in her neighborhood looking for survivors.
Mccoy says, "One of the rescue workers picked up a wall, and there was Rowdy... big brown eyes looking up."
So Rowdy, a licensed therapy dog is back at it.
Mccoy says, "The good Lord has a mission for him. We go in with patients, different individuals, children, people with disabilities. We go in and just show them love, and it lets people take their mind away from all the stress and pain."
Mccoy says, "We met with a little girl yesterday that had actually lost her brother and sister, and they were just wonderful together." It's like they know, they sense that sadness..the dogs do."

Rowdy works at St. John's Regional Medical Center and provides care to patients in the trauma facility.
