The May 10th tornadoes left hundreds of Four State pets homeless, and this weekend, some Kansas officials met to train for similar problems in the future. Veterinarians, animal control officers, and emergency responders from all across Kansas met in Wichita this weekend. The group learned about what to do with displaced pets when a disaster strikes. The training taught participants how to set up emergency shelter, and give first aid to animals. It also taught people how to deal with livestock that may have wandered away during a disaster.
