NEOSHO, MO---The city's new animal control officer is issuing citations for unregistered pets. Neosho leaders warn residents they are taking animal ordinances very seriously. Neosho code states all cats and dogs must be licensed within the city, meaning owners must provide rabies vaccination papers to city hall. Officials also say there is an issue with animals running loose. According to city ordinance, all animals must be on a leash or within an enclosed area.
There will be a discount rabies clinic from 1 P.M.to 3 P.M. this Saturday. It will be at the Neosho Police Department. While they are there, pet owners can also have their cat or dog licensed. The shots will cost $5 per animal.
