Dozens Of Volunteers From Four States Help Joplin Improve Web Site

JOPLIN, MO -- The company specializes in hosting websites for cities and state. 9 teams of volunteers came from across the Four States to spend three days figuring out ways to make the City of Joplin's website better. Crews started on Friday evening, and their final web sites and plans were presented to a group of city leaders today.
CivicPlus representative Michael Ashford says the group was glad to bring dozens of specialized volunteers to town. "As a technology company, who specializes in government web sites, we could bring to the table the ability to help Joplin rebuild digitally."
Public Information Officer for the City of Joplin Lynn Onstot says the city is excited to see the finished product. "This will provide a much easier way to get information, people will be able to get to where they need to go in one click." She says of the new website. "It will be a beautiful site, and very updated. "
CivicPlus also donated more than $1 Million Dollars in in web site hosting, and support services to the city during the exercise. The winning design will become the new digital face of Joplin on May 18th.
