BAXTER SPRINGS, KS - Baxter Springs residents hit the polls Tuesday to vote on an $8,000,000 dollar school bond issue. The bond will pay for renovations and additions at the Baxter Springs High School. Funds will also renovate Central Elementary School along with Lincoln Elementary School. Fema approved safe rooms will also be added to the facilities if the bond is approved. If the bond passes, a Baxter Springs resident who owns a $100,000 home would pay $100 more in property taxes a year.
