Jasper County Sheriff Responds to T-Shirt Controversy

CARTHAGE, MO---On the back of the shirts is a logo reading "Re-Elect Jasper County Sheriff Archie Dunn"

Dunn says the t-shirts were partially paid with public funds set aside for the DARE program and the rest is sponsored by businesses and groups who get their logo printed on the back.

Dunn says this year, he decided to personally sponsor the shirts and put his re-election logo on the back.

Dunn released a statement today saying, "My attorney has advised that I have done nothing illegal since I was treated the same as any other sponsor from a financial aspect and i have not violated any election ethics laws.

Any other candidate or organization can seek to sponsor a bacth of shirts"

He says he is personally reimbursing the county for the portion of the shirts that were paid for using public funds.
