JOPLIN -- The 4th annual Fido Magazine "Get Your Licks on Route 66 Cross Country Animal Adoption Tour" made a stop at the Joplin Animal Adoption and Resource Center Sunday. The focus is to raise the awareness of the many pets at shelters across the nation. Two dogs were adopted out of the center during the event. A popular attraction was the spinning wheel, where people paid $2 to spin the wheel for a prize. All the proceeds went straight to the shelter. Arkansas firefighter Dayna Wilson and her fire-safety pup Tango were special guests at the event.
