LAMAR, MO..--- The Lamar Tigers head to the Class 2 State Semi Finals tomorrow, for the 4th straight year.
"That's just showing all the other teams in Class 2 our dominance," states Landon Compton, Lamar Football Player.
All football players are riled up, ready for the big game.
"It's an amazing feeling when you're out there and all the fans are around," states Josh Baird, Lamar Football Player.
To get the fans pumped up, the high school hosted a pep rally today. Cheerleaders taught the audience new chants, sure to get the players fired up on the field.
"It gives you a lot of adrenaline, you're like this is our town supporting us. Let's go and play the best of or abilities and see what happens," states Compton.
The town has already been showing an unbelievable amount of support for the team.
"Go Lamar Tigers!"
From signs by the high school, to the square, to the court house, support is everywhere.
"We're all dug in here, this is our heart. We have a sign on the courthouse that says one team one heart beat that's what we are," states Kathleen Diamond, Lamar Resident.
The Tigers won the class to championship last year, and they hope to hold on to that title.
"It would be really really important for me and mean a lot to me," states Felex Bier, Lamar Football Player.
"To get there possibly, hopefully for the second time is the ultimate," states Diamond.
The Lamar Tigers will play against the Caruthersville Tigers tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the Lamar Football Field. Gates open at noon. If the Lamar Tigers do win, they head to the championship game in St. Louis next Saturday.
