JOPLIN, MO.--- Thousands camped outside Northpark Mall more than 4 hours before it opened at midnight.

"Waiting, freezing," states Heather Rogers, Shopper.

Despite the cold, people smiled and patiently waited to go inside, finding ways to pass the time.

"Talking to my sister in law," states Rogers.

Like Heather Rogers on her cell phone, listening to her sister's adventures at a Colorado store.

"She threw an elbow for a crock pot," states Rogers.

As she laughs, others count down the time by serenading the anxious crowd. Others dance, some text, and most agree the commercial holiday isn't all about spending the green.

"Really just for some entertainment. Just for fun. Spending time with family," states Rhonda McClain.

Black Friday veteran shopper, Rhonda McClain has been making the experience a family tradition for 5 years.

"I love that we just have fun all night long. We stop, get something to eat. It's just a fun time," states McClain.

We discovered the Black Friday mayhem might not be for everyone.
