JOPLIN, MO-- Joplin traffic patterns show December has been one of the worst months for fender benders. Joplin police officers say that the riskiest spots are on 7th Street, 32nd Street, and Range Line. The 2300 block of Range Line topped the list last month, but officers add that risk traditionally shifts to the north as shopping traffic picks up.

Joplin Police Sgt. Rusty Rives says, "7th and Range Line is always a high accident location. But you're looking at sections between the mall and 7th Street because that's where traffic gets backed up. And as you slow down for the stop light, the farther back you go, the quicker people have to stop."

Specific spots in the top 10 include Main Street at 20th and 5th, 7th Street downtown, and sites on Range Line all the way from Newman road to I-44.
