JASPER COUNTY, MO-- It's been exactly one week in office for Jasper County's new sheriff ... and Randee Kaiser says he's got a lot to learn. He held an all staff meeting last week to talk about his expectations from employees.

Now, he says he's meeting those workers one by one as well as trying to get a grasp of the big picture. That includes operations at the jail, the 2013 budget, the future of his dispatch center and the potential to move administration to the former Carthage bank building owned by the county.

Kaiser says it's a lot to take in. "The change in routine, the change in department and familiarizing myself with the things that go on and the employees. I spend a lot of time introducing myself and asking somebody what is it that you do here."

Kaiser was sworn in to office on December 28th but officially took over those duties on January first.
