Joplin Businesses Win Small Business Award

Some would say it brings a whole new meaning to "creating life", but Karalee Laney tell us, it's rewarding.
"Huge humbling experience to think that a one man shop like myself could actually be recognized by the state of Missouri."
3D 4D Imaging Center has trippled in size since opening. Clients drive almost 100 miles to have an ultrasound or sonogram performed by the registered medical sonographer.
"I certainly just considered myself a regular working person and to have that honor bestowed on me is humbling," said Laney.
On the north side of town, Dewey Sheets Junior brings light back to life in a more artisic way.
"Being recognized for something that you do doesn't happen very often, and this was very prestigious and I welcomed it," said Sheets.
Furniture Rescue now has a full staff and complete workshop, which Sheets said, wouldn't be possible without family and loyal customers.
"It made me very proud of what I've done, what my wife and I have accomplished, and it made me proud to rebuild here in Joplin," said Sheets.
Both companies received the Entrepreneurial Small Business Success Award. A proud moment that can be cherished for more than a lifetime.
"It encourages people if they have a dream, stay with the dream, do it, because if you really believe it in your heart it can happen, you can make it happen, and it's bigger then you'd expect," said Laney.
To qualify for the award, each company must have a history of an established business, steady growth, and increased net worth.
