JOPLIN, MO.--- Sara Hansen, a 7th grade teacher at South Middle School, is collecting shoes for any students wanting to get involved in extra curricular activities.

She said the idea came to her when she saw her own students in need. She'll accept male and female shoes. Hansen says her goal is to help students become more active.

"When they go home they might just sit in front of a TV, computer or a video game. This just gets them out and involved participating with the team and meeting new people," says Sara Hansen, Teacher.

If you would like to donate to Hansen's cause, you can drop the shoes off at South Middle School.
