PSU 2013 Apple Days Preparations

By: Brad Douglas
Updated: February 27, 2013
PITTSBURG, KS.--- Apple Days is one of the oldest traditions at Pittsburg State University and it takes a lot of planning. Randy Roberts is in charge of university archives and he says the event began in 1907.

The week long celebration will begin next week and include apple pie tasting contests, apple scavenger hunts, and a keynote speech from the adjunct general of Kansas. Roberts says planning for next week began months ago.

"We probably start talking about this a little in the fall, then we hit it pretty hard in January and February. Get everything ready for early March," said Randy Roberts, PSU Special Collections.
