BAXTER SPRINGS, KS.--- Baxter Springs schools add a new piece of technology in classrooms to help make lessons more interactive. A little black box on top of the projector allows content on iPads and iPhones to be projected on a big screen. It's called "Apple TV," and it works on a wireless connection.
Teachers can now move around the classroom and help students while projecting lessons. They can demonstrate how to write in cursive, how to use Google Earth or explain math problems. Each student also has access to log on to the Apple TV. Teachers say the technology makes kids more eager to participate.
"These kids are fighting to be the next person to be the one presenting. They want to be that person that logs on and gets to show what they know and what they have learned," said Kami Butterfield, Teacher.
Each Apple TV costs $99. So far, 4 classrooms in Central Elementary and several at the middle school have the Apple TV.
