Joplin, MO - Hundreds of animals at the Joplin Humane Society will spend their first night under a new roof.

Almost 200 dogs and cats made the move to the new shelter on North Main Street replacing the current facility on Swede Lane built in the 1960's.

Many of the volunteers and pups paraded over to their new home.

The multi-million dollar building has a much larger capacity and better amenities to keep the animals healthy and comfortable.

Volunteers say the new facility is even better than they'd hoped. The shelter will be ready for adoptions Wednesday.
