Today the Joplin Humane Society announced the site for their new building.
The new shelter will be built on
North Main Street and Emporer Lane in Joplin.
The Humane Society also celebrated its sixty year anniversary today.

Executive Director Diane Sharits says everyone's excited for the new building because they've outgrown their old one.

She says it will be a while before construction begins, but they're very excited to have finally found the perfect location.

A local family donated the land for the new location.
