The future of a four state dog park has been stopped in its tracks..
Camptown Greyhound Park in Frontenac, Kansas will no longer be opening on the expected date.
The owner of the park, Ruffin Companies, was relying on revenue from slot machines..
But contract negotiations with the Kansas lottery commission failed.
Senator Jim Barone says Ruffin decided to shut down construction because the commission was asking for too large a percentage of those revenues which was 40 percent.
Senator Barone says Ruffin had originally agreed to that percentage, then changed his mind.
Ruffin had originally committed to a 30 million dollar rehabilitation project.
Senator Barone says it's a loss for the community of Frontenac.
The city would have received tax revenues from the park.
