SENECA, MO---Originally, the bridge on 43 Highway in the heart of downtown Seneca was scheduled to shut down in April and re-open by May 1st. However, due to high water levels, crews have been unable to work underneath the bridge so they have not closed it completely.
The bridge is now scheduled to be closed from May 21st until June 13th but if the city receives any more heavy rain, construction could be pushed back until August. Members of the Chamber of Commerce say because of the location of the bridge, many Seneca business owners are concerned about how long the project will take.
