JOPLIN, MO - Joplin is known for many things and a city organization wants "friendliness" to be one of them. The Convention and Visitors Bureau wants everyone to vote in USA Today's best small towns in America contest.

Other cities competing for the title are Denton, Texas and Franklin, Tennessee. Many people have visited Joplin this past year and have commented on how welcoming people are, so the CVB needs your help making it known nationwide.

"We think it would be a great opportunity to showcase something other than what we have been experiencing in the last year," said Martha Getz, with the Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau. "This is a chance to really let everyone know we're here and we are an amazing community," Getz added.

If you want to vote Joplin for "Friendliest Small Town in America" here is how:

1. Go to <http://www.bestoftheroad.com/town.do?destinationId=3603>

2. Click the "Review and Vote" button and register

3. Write a review highlighting why you think Joplin is a friendly place to live and visit (include your favorite pics!)

4. Check the "Friendliest" box below your review, and hit submit

5. Then share it on your Facebook timeline, or Tweet about it and rally your friends and family to vote for Joplin, MO.

6. You can vote every 24 hours, and voting closes on May 15th
