PARSONS, KS -- A non-profit group made up of parents and residents in Parsons hopes to have a children's museum up and running soon.

The group hopes to open Curious Minds Discovery Zone- an interactive museum.

Members of the group are requesting to use a city-owned building to temporarily house the facility.

The site is located at 1810 Main Street.

Commissioners will vote to approve the request this evening.

"I think that building would serve well for the baby step concept of introducing the children's museum to the community," says Parsons Director of Tourism, Jim Zaleski.

The group is also fundraising to restore the former Washington School to make it the museum's permanent home.
