Restore Fest of Joplin is Giving Away 40,000 Pounds of Food

Shannon Becker of Restore Fest says last year's benefit was a reaction to the May 22nd tornado. He says this year it will be different.
"It's a reminder to everyone that there's still work to be done," Becker says. "Convoy of Hope is still here doing that work and on the ground every day."
This year the benefit is partnering with Convoy of Hope as part of the group's Compassion Tour, a two-year tour throughout the states.
"With the Restore Fest concert we wanted to give back to the people," Darwin Boston, Convoy of Hope Community Director, says.
In giving back, the main focus will be this Saturday morning from 9 to 12. Convoy of Hope is giving away 40,000 pounds of groceries to local families.
Saturday will also feature free haircuts, healthcare, and photographs.
Doors for the music benefit open at 2 p.m. All of its proceeds go to Convoy of Hope's restoration efforts of Joplin. Last year 120 thousand dollars was raised.
