CARTHAGE, MO.--- Managers at the Election Office in Carthage predict at least a 62% attendance at the polls this Tuesday. That percentage is slightly lower than the 72% voter turnout forecast for the State of Missouri, but still unprecedented in this area. Voter turnout is the number of people who actually vote, compared to the number of eligible voters in a given area. Election Office Administrator, Doris Morehouse says based on the sheer volume of absentee ballots her office has handled over the past several weeks, she has high hopes for tomorrow.

"I think everybody will have a better turnout. Not just Jasper County but everybody will," states Doris Morehouse, Election Office Administrator.

She says more than 5,000 absentee ballots have already been cast in Jasper County.
