JASPER COUNTY, MO-- Tax time is here for Missouri property owners, but some wonder just how their bill breaks down. It depends on where your address is - and that's not hard to find out. You start with your statement - those went out last week in Jasper County. Each one includes an assessed value for your property, how much you owe and a list of agencies that get the money. That's broken down into acronyms - like R1 for the Carl Junction School District.

Jasper County Collector Stephen Holt said, "The 'STAT' is the state taxes we send in.  The 'R' - whatever it would be would be - your school districts.  Like in Briarbrook, the 'BCID' is the community development money we collect for them.  'CJOP' at the bottom if you live in Joplin is the City of Joplin taxes."

In Jasper County there are also small amounts for sheltered workshops and a mental health designation. Click here to see the full list.
