JOPLIN, MO.--- Starting in the fall of 2013, the Criminal Justice Administration Department at Missouri Southern State University will be under the school of arts and sciences. The computer information science and engineering technology departments will become part of the school of business.

The Departments of Health Sciences, Public Safety, and Technology will become the school of health sciences. School officials say these changes are due to industry changes and job demands.

"We feel like it'll be more opportunity. What are the jobs and what's employment looks like? What are they looking for? Some of these moves will allow us to pursue those things," states Dr. Pat Lipira, Vice President Academic Affairs.

No departments will physically move, and no changes in academic programs or class offerings are anticipated.
