WEBB CITY, MO.--- Webb City Firefighters are giving out smoke detectors as part of their program "Operation Smoke Detectors Save Lives." They raised the funds to purchase the detectors, Henkle's Ace Hardware offered them at a discounted rate. Firefighters say their goal is to increase the safety of people living in the area.

"We want them in every home, but we want to make sure we hit those people that don't have one, elderly, or people that have limited incomes that may not be able to have them in their budget," said Robert Brenneman, Webb City Firefighter.

If you need a smoke detector, you can contact the Webb City Fire Department or stop by their office.
