MONETT, MO--- Some dairy workers in Southwest Missouri may soon be out of a job. Officials with the Dairy Farmer's of America said this week they will cease operations at the processing plant in Monett in September. About 80 workers will be affected by the closing.

A board member with the DFA says the plant is losing money because they don't have enough milk from farmer's to process. He says farmer's can't pay the feed bills because of high corn prices. A spokesperson with the DFA says they will work with the employees to help them find other job opportunities.

We have a news crew at the plant and will have more information later tonight.
