ANDERSON -- People of all ages were throwing darts, tossing bean bags and tasting home-made treats at the McDonald County High School Saturday. Parents and staff members organized the fundraiser for two teacher spouses who are suffering from serious illnesses, Kathy Shaddox and Keith Williams. Shaddox is battling cancer, while Williams has pulmonary fibrosis. Coordinators say they are overjoyed with the amount of people who showed up at the event.

"This is a show of community and support, because we're all part of this mustang nation," says auction organizer Tracy Allman. "Mustang nation takes care of each other because we're family."

All proceeds from the carnival, live and silent auctions and raffle tickets for a new John Deere lawn mower will go to the families of Shaddox and Williams.
