Former residents were invited back to celebrate their accomplishments since getting back into the community. Over the course of one year, campus staff assisted more than 500 families.
"People who worked here, you couldn't ask no better. They're the best. Any problem, they helped me get a new house," said Joe Evans, lived in Temporary Housing.
"It's kinda of bittersweet that we're leaving right now, because we know these residents, we see some of them everyday. It's sad to say goodbye. We're not going to be on site, but we'll still be there for them," said Kellee Shepherd, Human Services Director.
The facility will close its doors on March 29th. Leaders will have an office at the Joplin Family YMCA to offer help to those who need further assistance with finding housing.
