Federal prison records show 46-year-old Joseph Agofsky died earlier this month in a North Carolina facility. Agofsky, along with his brother Shannon, were convicted of kidnapping Dan Short from his Noel home in 1989. The brothers stole $75,000 from the bank where Short worked. Shannon Agofsky is on death row for killing Short by tying him to a weighted chair and throwing him in Grand Lake.
