Many people are searching for the perfect gift this holiday season, but there are scammers hoping to take advantage.
KSN's E-Media Manager Lynn Thornton says she has seen a dramatic increase in the number of puppy scams being posted on our website..www.fourstateshomepage.com.
She says scammers will say the puppy is free and just ask prospective adopters to pay shipping.
Broken English, out of state addresses, and words like "re-homing" or "cute and lovely" are also clues the puppy isn't for real.
Representatives with the southeast Kansas Humane Society say the best bet is to go to your local humane society and pick out your new pet in person.
