COMMERCE, OK -- Oklahomans will now be able to carry firearms in public.
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin signed Senate Bill 1733 into law today.
It allows those with a concealed carry permit to also carry a handgun openly.
There are some requirements; being at least 21 years-old, taking a firearm safety course, and passing a background check.
The new law also lets property owners carry a firearm on their property for self defense without a concealed carry permit.
The law will be in effect in November.
