OKLAHOMA--- Survival experts say accident victims can be stranded for days in the cold and must be prepared. Ed Covey at the Bunker Army Surplus Store says items like hand warmers, wool clothing, and matches are vital to keep in your car for winter emergencies. He says preparing for the worst can save you in a life or death situation.

"Make sure that you have a tool that you can cut yourself out of the vehicle in your car, so you're not stranded there. The second thing is you should always have wool type clothing that can still retain your body heat, and be wet," states Ed Covey, Bunker Army Surplus Store Employee.

Covey says first aid kits, nonperishable food, and water are staple items to keep in your car year round.
