JOPLIN -- Employees at Lowe's Home Improvement are making sure people are keeping their shelves stocked with the correct appliances to keep the snow from becoming a problem. They say popular selling items are ice scrapers, snow brushes, snow blowers, rock salt and, of course, snow shovels. The store typically sees an increase n sales for these tools and appliances when there are predictions for an upcoming storm, and employees say it is better to be safe than sorry.

"When it does happen, you don't have to go out and buy the stuff," says Lowe's assistant store manager Chris Legg. "You've already got the investments done, so you can just stay home and get your sidewalks cleared off and get your driveways cleared off. Then when the sun comes out, it's going to melt and take care of the rest of what's on your driveway and what you can't get with a snow shovel, and it'll melt it away."

Our next possible round of winter weather is expected early next week. Forecasters say we could see several inches of snow here in the four states.
