NEOSHO, MO---Overall, enrollment was up by 250 students last year, one hundred were at the high school. Officials expect the student population to continue growing this year. Last Fall, Neosho had an increase of 60 kindergartners over the previous year. School officials say 50 more than that have already signed up for this Fall. It is an issue because most of those younger students will stay in Neosho through their senior year. Each elementary school, the middle school and high school reported to the school board they are already needing more space. School board members say they are considering a school bond but nothing is official yet. For now, educators are adding mobile classrooms to create space. The state suggests kindergarten class sizes of 20 children. Neosho administrators are expecting to have 25 kindergartners in each class.
