NEOSHO -- A horse-drawn carriage giving rides around town square was just one of the many things getting people in the holiday spirit at the 11th Annual Dickens Faire Saturday. The faire is hosted every year by the Neosho Chamber of Commerce. Saturday, more than 30 vendors filled the Civic Center, as residents took care of some Christmas shopping. Santa also made an appearance, hosting a breakfast for the little ones that brought in more than 400 children. Organizers say it is a great way to show four state residents what Neosho's downtown has to offer. While people were out shopping and visiting Santa in Neosho, they could also look into adopting a pet. Faithful Friends Animal Advocates set up on the square, showcasing animals who are looking for responsible owners. The organization currently has pets in foster homes. Volunteers say Christmas is usually the most popular time for people to take home a new cat or dog. If you would like to adopt a cat or dog from Faithful Friends, click here.
