JPD Investigates Incident at Grade School

UPDATE: Officers have located the individual involved in the incident. At this time, they are working to determine whether or not it was an attempted abduction.

FIRST: On 2-5-13 the Joplin Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle around Royal Heights Elementary School via Facebook. The Investigations Bureau began following up on the incident. 

The report indicated that a male had driven up to the fence outside the school and tried to coax a student into an unknown make and model, orange truck.

Detectives contacted the family of the 9 year old girl and school officials in order to try to piece together the events. Detectives continue working with school officials to investigate the case and track down the suspect.   



Suspect description:

White Male unknown age

Short brown curly hair

Scar or burn on his face and tattoos on both forearms

Wearing blue jeans and tennis shoes

Driving an orange truck (unknown make and model).
