Girl Power Career Path Day

Updated: February 19, 2013
JOPLIN, MO.--- Vatterot College in Joplin along with Joplin High School hosted a "Girl Power" career path day. It was held at Memorial Hall in Joplin. The goal is to boost the confidence and self worth of freshman high school girls.

There are many pressures like dating and school work that can overwhelm them. Organizers say they want the ladies to know they're not alone.

"We just want them to have the courage and the strength to say 'no' to some of those pressures and be who they are. Celebrate the beauty they are themselves," says Jeri Goswisk, Teacher.

The girls were also given complimentary manicures and goodies bags.
