CARL JUNCTION, MO.--- The "Jazz N Java in the Junction" benefit for the Washburn family was held this evening in Carl Junction. Johnny Washburn was killed in a car accident in January. His wife, and 3 daughters were seriously injured in the crash and are still receiving treatment in Kansas City for their injuries.

The proceeds from tonight's silent auction and donations will go towards the families mounting medical expenses. Organizers say they hope the evening helps lift the spirits of the family in these tough times.

"Try to do what we can financially, but also from the standpoint of moral support. That's why we've got hundreds of people here tonight just to let them know that we're all thinking about them," said Gary Stubblefield, Carl Junction Chamber of Commerce.

Art Feeds was also on hand to help make hundreds of get well cards which will be sent to the family in Kansas City.
