A Local Dance Team Makes a Big Splash at a National Competition

MIAMI, OK-- Dance Academy in Miami, Oklahoma sent a team of girls from across the four states to the Dance Showcase USA in Kennedale, Texas. The group of 8 girls had one of the smallest teams, but that didn't stop them from taking 1st place. The dancers say they are proud to bring home a national title.
"We really didn't know what we were going into, so we kind of didn't really know what to expect," states Morgan Smith, Dancer.
"It shows people if you dedicate yourself and you want to do it then you can go out and win a national competition," says Kennedy Fitgerald, Dancer.
The girls competed against more than 850 teams.
